School of Ministry

We are passionate about raising up the next generation of leaders of God’s church.
Whether you’re considering full-time or ordained ministry, further education or a career in another sector, our School of Ministry discipleship and leadership training program can help you develop and grow your skills.
Through our intern program, we hope to train people for a lifetime of serving God, whatever that might look like- whether as a pastor, church planter, bible-college student, secular worker, campus worker or overseas missionary.
To find out more, please email us. We’d love to talk to you to help you answer any questions you have and help you reflect on whether being an intern is for you.

Caitlin Fortier: I am married to Brennan, and a mum of two (and one more on the way). I started following Jesus at the end of high school, and have been serving in His house ever since. I spent many years involved in the dance ministry at our previous church and time on staff in different administration roles. However, as a teacher by trade, my passion has always been children, and sharing what I know with them. I believe sharing the good news of Jesus with children is such an important honour and privilege and my internship will be in pursuit of this. I will be involved in teaching scripture in schools, our outreach playgroup; playtime, bridge kids and Sunday Kids Church at Kirribilli.
James Fox: As I’ve grown up, music and God have always been a constant in my life. That is why I am so glad this year to be serving at Bridge as an intern in the area of music and also helping with Ignite (Youth). I am predominantly based at our 4pm and 6pm services at Neutral Bay and lead the senior boys at Ignite. I am loving every moment of the internship so far, and looking forward to more great training and guidance from my mentors.
Steffen Kapke: Growing up in Germany, I thought the best thing about Christianity was the extra free hours in highschool after convincing my mother to write me a letter to exempt me from the classes teaching religion. Graciously, God had other plans for me. Jesus found me, like so many of His prideful sheep, on my knees in the dark valley, where I spotted the narrow gate and entered after witnessing His love and power. Now, I’m a Bible nerd in progress. The current focus of my internship is evangelism and community outreach, including Alpha, the Community Housing Ministry (Greenway) and Aged Care Connection. I’m part of the 8am & 5pm gathering team in Kirribilli and lead a Connect group.
Issy Pagan: I came from the UK in 2023 with my husband, Sam, and we have been so blessed here! My life is changed by Jesus and the freedom and life he offers, and I love seeing people come to rest in this too! I’m passionate about churches being healthy and safe, and equipping Christians to care well for people. We’re hoping to be involved in global mission, as well as strengthening churches in the future, and are grateful for opportunities to learn here! I’m involved in Bridge Young Adults, Wellbeing & Care, Prayer, and the 10am and 7pm congregations at Kirribilli.
Nathan Rose-Innes: Having grown up in a Christian family I stepped into my own faith in my gap year, pre-university, where I encountered Christ reading the bible one morning. Since then I have had a stirring to see those around me experience Christ’s fullness as I did, and see His word transform the lives of His people. My main areas of ministry are Youth & Young Adults, whilst I’m based at Kirribilli within the 10am and the 7pm services. I grew up in Cape Town and have spent the last eight years in the UK. I love sports and anything outdoors! Really looking forward to the internship and seeing God’s work in His church.

Through the complementing of their formal theological education with hands-on ministry experience, Pastors in Training are prepared for ministry post-college.
Pastors in Training experience leading different ministries, receive formal training & feedback from members of our pastoral team and develop essential skills for their ministry future.
Whilst actively participating in the life of the church, our prayer is that Pastors in Training grow in ministry calling and ability as well as their heart for God’s people.
