What to expect
If you've been coming to our church for a while and would like to know more about who we are and what it looks like to be involved here, please Sign up to a Belonging Course. There is no expectation that you have to join our church afterwards.
If you've never stepped foot in a church before, or you've attended a church your whole life, you're very welcome at The Bridge Church. We understand that visiting somewhere new can be a bit nerve-racking, so we'd like to help you learn more about what happens when you visit us over the weekend.
Our gatherings include 8am traditional Anglican services at Kirribilli and Neutral Bay, our all ages contemporary services with kids church and creche programs are 10am at Kirribilli, 10 and 4pm at Neutral Bay, and 10.30am at Macquarie Park. We have evening services at 5pm and 7pm at Kirribilli and 6pm at Neutral Bay which are also all ages, contemporary services.
I'm not a Christian - am I welcome?
Absolutely! Our doors are open to everyone, as we believe that the good news of Jesus is for everyone. We'd love to help you to explore this good news, and to put your faith in Jesus. Our church services are a great place for you to do this.
What time should I arrive?
We aim to start our services on the advertised time, but you might like to arrive a bit earlier to find a car park (this can be tricky!).
How to get there?
There is no on-site parking available at any of our sites. Kirribilli has limited 2-hour parking available close to the church, and Neutral Bay has unlimited street parking. We would suggest parking for the Macquarie Park service in the nearby Macquarie Centre car park - take the first ramp on Waterloo Road (with the signs for Woolworths), turn left at the top of the ramp and park next to the ‘Return and Earn’, near Herring Road. Exit the carpark using the pathway behind the Metro station and the church is a 3 minute walk away.
By Public Transport
The Bridge Church is easily accessible by public transport. For timetables, please see Transport NSW website.
Train is helpful for Kirribilli and Macquarie Park. The closest train station for Kirribilli is Milsons Point and our Macquarie Park site is right next to the Macquarie Uni metro station.
Bus - several bus routes service all three of our sites.
Ferry - Kirribilli and Neutral Bay both have a nearby Ferry Wharf with approximately a 10 minute uphill walk to reach our sites.
How long does the service go for?
Our 8am service runs for one hour, and our other services are usually no longer than 90 minutes. You are also welcome to join us for morning tea or supper after the service.
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable joining us for a weekend service. Please just come as you are - church is about the people you're with, not the clothes you're wearing.
Where do I sit?
You are welcome to sit anywhere. There's no reserved or VIP seating, so as long as no one else is sitting on the seat, you're welcome to sit there!
What happens during the service?
Each week the order may change, but there are some common parts to all of our church services. There is a time of singing (you can listen to some of the songs we sing on Spotify). We hear the Bible read and preached (the sermon is a talk lasting for no more than 30 minutes). Someone leads the church in a time of prayer to God.
This might be unfamiliar to you and that's ok - you're welcome to just listen in, and nothing is expected of you - see the next point!
What participation is required?
We want you to feel welcome to come and listen in, without fear of being asked to do anything you're uncomfortable with. You can leave whenever you like, and while you can remain as anonymous as you want to be, we encourage you to introduce yourself to us - we'd love to meet you.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely - church is for people of all ages and stages. Kids Church takes place during four of our services on Sundays - 10am Kirribilli, 10am and 4pm Neutral Bay and 10.30 Macquarie Park. There is also a creche and a room for mothers to feed their babies.
Kids and adults join us at the start of the service, and then the children go to Kids Church about 20 minutes in. At Kids Church, children are well cared for by trained leaders, who have received child protection qualifications. You are of course welcome to sit in during Kids Church and watch what happens.
Kirribilli church has a hearing loop at all services and wheelchair access.
