Intern Information Night

At The Bridge Church, we are passionate about raising up the next generation of leaders of God’s church.

Through our intern program, we hope to train people for a lifetime of serving God, whatever that might look like – whether as a pastor, church planter, bible-college student, secular worker, campus worker or overseas missionary.

In 2 Timothy 2:2 the Apostle Paul says. ‘And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.’ A ministry truism is: what is passed on and defended in the first generation, when assumed in the second is lost in the third. We are keen for that not to be the case.

One thing that holds back gospel growth around the world is the limited number of workers. ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few’, says Jesus (Matt 9:37).

‘Workers’ just mean reliable people, equipped to communicate the word. That could be from a pulpit, over a back fence, on YouTube, or in writing. ‘Workers’ can be paid, or self-funded. They can be employed in a secular workplace, or overseas missionaries. Or some combination.

But workers don’t just happen. They need investment. Our two-year, full-time internship is one such investment. Our goal is not that interns do the photocopying and coffee runs. We hope they finish the two years more excited about Jesus and more eager to share the news of God’s grace, wherever they end up. We mentor and train our interns, as they get a hands-on experience of a range of ministries.

Whether you’re ready to think about an internship, or would like to know more for future decision making, come along to out intern info session on Monday 21st August, at 7:45pm at Kirribilli.

We will also tell you more about the application and interview process.
