Supporting people experiencing separation and divorce, in a safe, caring and non-judgemental environment.
Healing from divorce is not easy. At Divorce Care groups, people experiencing separation and divorce find tools, teaching and support, to help them deal with their pain and give them hope for the future. Meet with others who have experienced something similar and give an opportunity to share, listen, and think through how to heal in a supportive, Christian environment.
Divorce Care helps you face the challenges of this often confusing, stressful and isolating time and move toward rebuilding your life. This 8-week Christ-centred program includes three main parts – video, group discussion and personal Bible study – including real-life stories of people who’ve been though a marital breakup, as they share their pain, challenges and path to healing.
The sessions address divorce-related concerns, such as how long is this pain going to last? Will I survive? Are these feelings I’m having normal? Where is God in all this?
You’ll gain insights on how to handle emotions such as anger, depression and loneliness. Over the eight weeks the following topics are covered:
- What’s happening to me?
- Facing my anger
- Facing my depression
- Facing my loneliness
- What does the owner’s manual say?
- New relationships
- Forgiveness
- Reconciliation
