Connect Groups
Connect Groups are all about making every member of church a mature and active disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as a meaningful way of doing life together as God’s family. They are the way to be more connected into community at church.
Meetings are weekly during term time, either in a Connect Group leader or member’s home, or at church and provide an opportunity for in-depth small-group bible study, training in Christian living and doctrines, purposeful, accountable relationships and mutual support and prayer.
Connect Groups are also encouraged to attend the monthly Central Prayer together, on the 1st Wednesday of each month on rotation across our 3 locations.
Most Connect Groups meet on a midweek evening and there are groups for men, women, and mixed men & women. Women’s morning Connect Groups meet on a Tuesday (Macquarie Park), or Wednesday (Neutral Bay) and we also have Young Adults groups, Seniors groups and create geographically based groups if there is demand.
Encounter Gathering for Women runs at Kirribilli on Tuesday mornings with both altogether and group based time.
Groups are usually formed of people from the same congregation where possible. Women’s Morning Connect Groups that meet at church also have an opportunity to get to know people from different congregations.
These groups are a great way to deepen your relationship with God and with others in your church family. They also look for opportunities to serve and reach their neighbourhood and networks with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
If you are new to church, before joining a Connect Group, everyone attends our Belonging Course. This course is designed to introduce you to our church and all that we are about.
Not sure why you should do Belonging first? Click here.
If you are still exploring Christianity, the best place for you to start is with one of our ‘Explore’ courses. Once you have done the course, chat to your leaders about what is the best next step for you.
