We all know wisdom is good. But do we really treasure it? As a father trains his son, Proverbs pleads with us not just to appreciate wisdom, but to treasure & chase it. For as Proverbs 24:14 promises: ‘Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.’
Looking into Proverbs, we see that that wisdom is discerning order through relationship with God. To fear Him is the framework – but we are invited to explore his well-ordered world to fill the content of the wise life. & as we study Proverbs, not only is the wise life shown to us – but our real treasure is exposed.
