Luke’s second volume opens with the excitement of the Risen Christ. A fact that overturned the world & overturns our lives. From the outset, we see that Jesus is alive & well. Jesus has ascended & is seated on his throne. Jesus is Lord. And the Lord Jesus must be testified to. As he commissioned his disciples: ‘you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea & Samaria, & to the ends of the earth’ (Acts 1v8). Jesus is the risen Lord and that fact overturned the world in the times of Acts – and even now overturns our lives.
